A new year is upon us and many people have set good intentions on improving their health and well-being. However, all too often, after only a few short days or weeks of excitement, these good intentions are forgotten and better health just gets added to a long to-do list that never gets done. So what is the key to achieving better health and well-being in this new year? Simply put: Having goals. We had to learn each of these practices and over time, perfected it in our own, unique way. It’s unfortunate that in today’s society we are not taught as children to tap into this amazingly powerful gift that we were all born with, this gift that is stored in the minds of each and every one of us. Stress Management For Corporations

Poll results released in October 2007 by the American Psychological Association found that 1/3 of Americans are living with extreme stress.

Excessive stress can be extremely expensive for employers. Highly stressed employees are absent or tardy more often, and are much more likely to leave their jobs. When at work, they tend to be significantly less productive with a considerable lack of job concentration – a phenomenon known as presenteeism, which can lead to even greater losses to the company than frequent absences.

The bottom line is this, in the second quarter of 2007, average hourly earnings for U.S. workers in the private sector were $17.30 an hour, according to the U.S. Labor Department. That equals $692 a week, or $35,984 annually. (more…)
